Currency Converter
Convert between 10 currencies using a preset rate, or one you enter.
How it works
Choose the amount, the currency you have and the currency you want. The rate box shows how many units of the second currency one unit of the first buys. Edit it to use your own rate, or press Use preset to go back.
converted = amount × rate
inverse rate = 1 ÷ rate
cross rate = rate(USD→to) ÷ rate(USD→from)Example
100 US dollars at a rate of 1 USD = 88 INR gives 100 × 88 = ₹8,800.00. The inverse is 1 ÷ 88 = 0.0113636, so 1 INR is about 0.0114 USD. Here 88 is the preset value, not a live rate; use the rate you were quoted for a real transfer.
Common mistakes
- Treating the preset as today's rate. It is an example value, not live data, so it can be well off.
- Entering the rate the wrong way round. For 1 USD = 88 INR the rate is 88, not 0.0114. The label above the box shows which way it goes.
- Ignoring fees. Banks, cards and exchange counters give a worse rate than the mid-market rate and may add a fee on top.

About this calculator
Pick an amount and two currencies, and the converter multiplies by the exchange rate for that pair. It supports INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, CAD, AUD, JPY, SGD and CHF. The inverse rate is shown too, and the swap button flips the direction.
Calcade has no live rates feed, so the starting rate is a preset: a rounded example value set in October 2026. It is not live and not a quote. Type the rate from your bank, card or a rates site into the rate box and the result uses that instead. Preset rates for other pairs are worked out through the US dollar. Banks and card networks add fees and a margin, which this tool does not.
Frequently asked questions
Are these live exchange rates?
No. The page uses preset rates: rounded example values set in October 2026, labelled as not live. Calcade makes no network calls for rates. Enter the current rate yourself for anything that matters.
How do I use my own rate?
Type it into the rate box, as the number of the second currency that one unit of the first buys. The result then says it uses a custom rate, and Use preset brings the original back.
How are rates for pairs like EUR to GBP worked out?
Each preset is stored against the US dollar, so EUR to GBP is the GBP rate divided by the EUR rate. With presets of 0.86 EUR and 0.75 GBP per dollar, 1 EUR is 0.75 ÷ 0.86 = 0.872 GBP.
Why does Japanese yen show no decimals?
The yen has no minor unit, so results in JPY are shown as whole yen. The breakdown also shows the result before rounding.
